Special Forces/Special Operations Networks

What are Special Forces/Special Operations Networks and how can I join?

The Special Forces/Special Operations Networks are networks (news feeds) of content created for those in each branch/command. It is free for members to use and consist of list of clandestine communities.

Due to the sensitive nature and privacy issues with being a part of a covert community, we've made the network(s) private. Members wishing to join must meet stringent guidelines to be added. Those guidelines are set in place for the privacy and protection of the members who were part of the clandestine communities.

Before continuing, please know the networks are private. They are not listed publicly. You can not add yourself. You must be added or invited to join. Please do not ask the Schmules Admin if so-and-so member is part of a network. We will not give out network member information.

Why can't we add ourselves to the network of our choosing?

Valor thieves can be crafty. Many times they will peruse the internet searching for someone of close resemblance and fake that they are someone they aren't. They have been known to steal a person's email address and use it as their own. During the validation process, we verify a members email from the signup process. If the email is not verified, we will not proceed.

Again, you must be a Schmules member with a verified email. A verified email is when you signup and then confirm your email account from the link sent to your inbox.

Once your email is verified there are a couple of ways you can be added to the specified network.

Method 1) You can message the Schmules Admin and request to be added.

For this option, the Schmules Admin will need the following information so that we may search and verify your identity:

            Branch of the military
Your Real Name (first and last). Do not use an alias for the verifications process. You can use an alias later, by Edit My Profile
Date you graduated Special Forces or Special Operations training
            Class Number
            Unit or Team number

We may ask you to supply documents proving your identity, i.e., drivers license, passport, military id, DD-214, etc. Documents can be uploaded on your profile. Please do not upload any documents without first blocking out sensitive information such as your drivers license number, SSN, etc. If not blocked out, we will delete those documents and ask you to resubmit them. We do not want to be responsible for any sensitive data on our servers.

Another way to verify your identity is by your public presence. For instance, if you have a "known" public identity, or you have written a book on your branch of service - something likewise - and you have a biography on your website; we at Schmules will attempt to match up your email address you signed up with along with the one that is on your website. We will then add you to the network. If you don't want to use the same email address as your website, then we advise you to use it during signup so that we can verify your identity and then you can change it anytime you like to your personal one. To change your email, click here.

If using public profile links for proving your identity, please supply them when messaging the Schmules Admin

Method 2) A friend that who you know that is already in the network can contact the Schmules Admin and request that you be added.

Let's say you are the private type, or you are still active, but want to be able to communicate and stay up-to-date on all the happenings in your community, but you don't have a stinkin' public profile. No problem. Just have a buddy in the network email us the following information and we'll be more than happy to add you. No questions asked.

Email address signed up with. It must be verified, as specified above.

The Network you want to be added to of which Special Forces or Special Operation group that you were a part of. The member requesting your addition to the group must be a part of that network as well. If not, we will not add you.

Members adding non Special Forces/Operations individuals to private network will be deleted and banned, along with individuals they had added.

Please do not ask someone to add you if you are not active, reserve, retired, or a former SF or SO. If someone reports non-SO or SF members in the network, those members, and the person who requested them to be added, will be deleted from the network and will never be re-added. The integrity and privacy of those networks and members are paramount.

Method 3) You can message the Schmules Admin and ask that you be verified in the network amongst your peers.

For this option, let's say you don't know who is in the network and you don't have a public profile. but you want to be added. Okay, we can add you once someone in the network verifies your information. We will need some or all of the following from you for your peers to validate or deny your addition to the network:

            Branch of the military
Your Real Name (first and last, please don't use an alias during this process. Once added, you can use an alias by updating your profile. Edit My Profile)
Date you graduated Special Forces or Special Operations training
            Class Number
            Unit or team number
A nickname or any other identifiable information your teammates may know you as. A photo may even help - no dick pics or ass shots, we may not be as enthused about it as you are!
You may also upload documents as mentioned above, please do not upload any documents without first blocking out sensitive information such as your drivers license number, SSN, etc. If not blocked out, we will delete those documents and ask you to resubmit them. We do not want to be responsible for any sensitive data on our servers.

Once we receive your information, the Schmules Admin will post to the network asking if anyone knows the individual with the contact information provided. When your information is confirmed, we will add you to the network and message you.

 Banning Members from the Network

Have you ever had someone in a group that's a pain in the ass? I think we all have. For those who are in the network that are having a problem with that one member, you can request to have them banned. How? Follow the steps below:

Ask the Schmules Admin to run a poll on that network. If the poll has an overwhelming response to remove that member then re-message the Schmules Admin - since the admin will not have time to monitor the poll - and request to have the member removed. The Schmules Admin will need the "subject" members profile (profile link,) as well as the Network name that the member should be removed from.

How do I add content to the SF/SO network?

Once you've been added to the network, you can create content for that network by selecting it when posting. If you are unsure how, please see the example of a network below.

Once the content has been created, click on the "My Followers" dropdown as shown below, then scroll down to select the network you wish to post to. We are using the Art Collecting as an example, since the networks are private.

Once the network is selected, click "Share." That content may show on your feed, but only those in that network can view it..

If you are wanting to share content to more than one network, private or not, you will need to select each specific network, one at a time by creating the content over and over. Please make sure the content shared to each network is content specific. For instance, the Outdoors Network>Hunting is specific to anything hunting, and only hunting. Content in Hunting that does not pertain to it will have the content deleted and the member could be as well.

How do I view each Network I'm joined with?

You can view your networks from the example below:

Who has access to the networks?

Only the people who are members of that network and the Schmules Admin has access. If you know of a member who has passed away, please let us know so we can remove them from the network. We at Schmules do not want anyone having access to a network but the member. It is not set-up to be a friends and family center for Special Forces and Special Operations. That can be achieved with connecting and posting to them on your "My Network."

What content is allowed in the network?

Painstakingly, we created these networks as a community source for Special Forces and Special Operations to stay connected with their brothers and sisters in arms. Anything you want to create content on is your prerogative and share with network members is up to you. The only rule we have for private networks is viewable in our Terms of Service that members agreed to when signing up.

Just remember, if you piss everyone off, they could run a poll and get rid of you.

Who can join out of the branches listed? Is it for everyone supporting Special Operation community too?
