It is pretty sad when you try to be proactive within your community in trying to help people. Especially those who could be vulnerable to predators. The predators I'm referring to are SCAMMERS.
On one of the pages I follow on FB, I occasionally see scam posts of phishing where posts are created in an attempt to gain information.
SEE A SAMPLE POST BELOW (not the original I posted on. It would not allow me to view it!)
Notice in the post of the link given, this was "supposed" to be an Amazon job opening. If you aren't aware, Amazon posts career opportunities on their website: https://www.amazon.jobs/ .
Also note the link this member on FB, Alam Alam, gave for the job listing: sites.google dot com, with a view page of "xbvxvjsbdvj" that indexed the sites home page. Now, I didn't visit the link because it could also have malware, so I don't know exactly the information they are requesting for this supposed job opening, but I can guess, since the site link is not on the up-and-up. Why? Companies don't typically post their openings on pages that are created with a jumble of letters.
When I attempted to alert other members there could be a scam with a Scam Alert meme, I was reported. Facebook evaluated the post and stated I went against their Community Standards. WHAT?!?!?
SEE THE ALERT BELOW:
OF COURSE I DISAGREED.
As you can see above, my trying to protect others went against what FB is trying to project ... according to their decision. They made it look as if I created a phishing post. Does this mean they promote scams? Protect scammers?
In an effort to help, my account was flagged that I would be restricted if I commented with a SCAM ALERT meme again. I haven't since, but I felt it was wrong and wanted to let my peers know.
SEE HOW MY ACCOUNT WAS FLAGGED ON MY PROFILE PAGE:
I don't know about you, but I feel this is wrong on so many levels. This is the kind of phishing attempt ruins people's livelihood, and when a company where you should be able to help and express your opinion goes against that, it doesn't make it a community. Why are so many wiling to side with evil and not the protectors?
If more members where on Schmules I wouldn't return to this farce of a site. It is not social at all!
Rules Schmules! We don't need all those stinkin' rules. The place where if it's legal in your area, you can post, comment or share it.
